We work together for mental health
Welcome to us
We offer a place for better well-being, community and zest for life. With us you get routines, structure and the opportunity to strengthen your work ability and self-esteem. You can meet new friends, improve your health, get active leisure time and support in work, studies or contact with authorities and healthcare.

Is Fountain House for me?
Do you have your own experience of mental illness? Do you want to participate in our meaningful work? Do you need a context? Are you between 16 and 63 years old and live in Stockholm? Then you are welcome to join us!
What is considered mental illness?
We do not require specific diagnoses. People who come to us all have different experiences of mental illness. It could be anxiety, depression, exhaustion, psychosis, trauma or you may not really know but feel that you are feeling unwell.
What if I already have a job?
If you have ongoing employment through the Swedish Public Employment Service or a welfare-assessed position, we are not your business. If you have any questions, please contact us.
What if I have an NPF diagnosis?
NPF diagnoses (for example autism and ADHD) are not considered mental illness in themselves, but many with NPF diagnoses also have mental illness. For many, staying with us works well, but we also have experience that our environment can be perceived as stressful and not structured enough. We have many members in the organization who all have the right to try out all the tasks. This means that you cannot expect to perform the same tasks every time you are here. There is also a shortage of quiet rooms. If you have a great need for individual support, we unfortunately cannot offer this. Welcome to try our organization to see if it is something for you!
Current for enhanced job training?
We have 15 positions administered by the employment agency. Add information and what FAT is.
Om jag har en LSS-insats?
We do not target people with disabilities who have an ongoing LSS intervention (this does not include housing support). In that case, you have been assessed as having a different support need than what we are able to meet. If you have any questions, please contact us.
What if I live in a municipality?
If you live and are registered in a municipality other than the city of Stockholm, a social assistance decision is required to start with us. Contact your municipality to find out if it is possible to get a social assistance decision for our business. You are then welcome to book an initial visit to get more information about our business. In the next step, you apply for a social assistance decision, which you need to have been granted before you can start with us.
How does Fountain House work?
Our offer to you
With us, you get to participate in a work community that gives your everyday life routines and structure. You get the opportunity to develop your work ability, social skills and self-esteem – while getting to know others with similar experiences. Here you can make friends, improve your physical health and have a more active free time. You can also get support in work or studies, as well as support in situations that may affect your compensation, your accommodation or contact with authorities and healthcare.
Our health work
For those of you who are interested in health issues, there is our health forum with themed meetings twice a week. For example, these can concern sleep, stress, self-compassion, movement, motivation and nutrition. During each work shift (morning and afternoon), there is the opportunity for some form of movement training such as walking, simple strength training and joint gymnastics. Our goal is to support you who want to improve your health.
Our various tasks
Our Young Adults group (16-30 years old)
When working with us, you can help cook in the kitchen, serve lunch, manage administration, staff the reception, update the website and social media. You can also work with IT, inform others about us, make radio, take care of our shared premises and much more. In addition to work, there is also space for simple physical training together and social activities outside the working day. You can also use some of your time with us for your own preparations for work or studies. If you are a student, you get involved in our Study Unit.
For those of you who are under 30 years old, there is also the opportunity to get involved in our Young Adults group. We often work project-based, for example, we have worked with social media, organizing the Young Adults Fair and podcast. We also make sure to keep in touch with each other within the group and welcome new young adults to the activities. Together we also find social activities. The aim is to promote and maintain our community within the group in various ways and to discuss issues that concern you as a young person with mental illness.
Our support for work and studies
For those of you who want support on your journey to the job market, there is our Ways Out program. We are with you throughout the entire preparation process and even after you have received a job training, employment or study place. You are offered themed group meetings that can involve help with CVs, interview training, information from authorities and other actors or how to work with goals and planning. You also have the opportunity for individual support with supervision.
Our collaboration with Radio Totalnormal
In collaboration with Radio Totalnormal, you are offered the opportunity to work editorially with local radio. We broadcast a 1.5-hour program live from our dining room every other Thursday. You can help plan content for the broadcasts, make features, be a program host, choose music, sing, help behind the scenes and much more.
